I am not sure if this song is well known outside Germany.
Hope you like it!

NIce! I used to hear this piece a lot, when it was on air as a little tv intermezzo. I'm from Holland, but we watched a lot of German tv when I was young.

If you're open for a small tip, the basses are a bit overwhelming, you might want to try slight palmmuting on the low strings. Your right hand positioning looks like you have a classical background. 'Stimmt daß'?

Yes I took some months classical lessons.

I am just practising alot with the plectrum at the moment, maybe I gonna start playing with a thumbpick after that.
Eventhough I love Tommy so much, I am just not that much into the Boomchick sound so I think thats why I havent learned playing with a thumbpick yet.

Muting the bass aint easy without a thumbpick, but you are right, its overwhelming, but I also just got a new microphone so maybe I could also try to adjust it a little bit more next time I am recording.

Thanks for you response!

I must have a good tollerance for bass. I thought it was very well played, is a great tune and I think that the bass needs to resonate throughout the song. Personally I think that muting the bass would not let the song flow as well as it does in this version.
Great job. I've added it to my favourites list.

Cheers,
Wilko

PS: When I listened to the song the first few times, I got the feeling of floating down a river or stream (with a little pace), and not being able to speak German, I thought I would google for a translation of the song title.
So my question is, is the title really "The hole in the banana"?
The worst time to have a heart attack is when you are playing charades.

Yes thats the real title.. :D

I may tell you more about the componist so you may understand a little bit of his mind, chosing this title.

Klaus Weiland was born 1947 in a refugee camp and moved 1950 to Great Britain. In his early 20´s he moved back to Germany and started a study of languages.
But he toured more in Folk & Blues Clubs and denied military service. Not liking the change and evolution of Germany in the 60´s he started touring through the world and ending up settling down in Texas. I think it is right, calling him a freethinker.

I add the link to the tabs aswell.

All the best
